Arsenal youngster Wellington Silva has confirmed that he’s joined Bolton Wanderers on a loan deal, as the Brazilian prepares for another journey away from the capital.
Silva signed back in 2010 but has yet to play a competitive game for Arsenal, and after starting his career with Fluminense back in 2009, he’s had loan spells at Almeria, Levante, Alcoyano and Ponferradina.
Despite being tipped for a bright future at Arsenal, the 22-year-old was rumoured to be sent back out on loan this summer, with Arsene Wenger having a preference of him staying in England this time in order to acclimatise to English football.
Silva has now released a picture of himself signing a contract at Bolton, as Neil Lennon turns to the Brazil Under-21 international to help his men in the Championship this season.
The winger is highly-rated at Arsenal, and will be hoping that his stint with the Trotters will finally kick-start his career at the Emirates under Wenger.
Silva has had trouble obtaining a work permit since arriving in North London, which is why he’s been sent out on loan several times.
In December 2010 Silva was awarded one, but it was announced that the FA had backtracked on its initial decision to award him his “Special Talent Visa”, and thus he was sent out on loan – a move that started the chain of temporary spells away from the club after that.
Arsenal have created 34 chances in the league this season.
